Nokia has finally announced about a week ago, in London at Nokia World event, their first Windows Phone 7 devices. There were rumors, waiting, hopes and are here now. One of the Windows smartphones is the Lumia 710 which appears to be designed for instant social and image sharing. The phone has Internet Explorer 9 integrated for a great web browsing experience.
Most important technical details are:
-- DISPLAY: 3.7-inch TFT capacitive multi-touch 480 x 800 pixels, gorilla glass, ClearBlack screen.
-- CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon Scorpion 1.4 GHz dual-core processor.
-- GPU: Adreno 205
-- MEMORY: 512 GB RAM.
-- STORAGE: 8 GB for internal.
-- CAMERA: Primary - 5MP auto-focus led flash camera, video recording up to 720p.
-- CONNECTIVITY: 3G, HSDPA, HSUPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, micro-USB port, 3.5 mm headphone jack, A-GPS.
-- SENSORS: Proximity, Ambient Light Sensor, G-Sensor, Digital Compass.
-- BATTERY: Li-Po 1300 mAh
-- MULTIMEDIA: touch sensitive buttons.
-- OS: Windows Phone 7.5 Mango.
-- APPLICATIONS: Nokia Maps, social networking, Internet Explorer 9, Bing.
Being a Windows Phone 7, the Lumia 710 arrives with Microsoft Office suite but does not have a serious customized user interface as some people may have expected. I also believed that the partnership with Microsoft will allow Nokia to design their own UI just like HTC made with Sense for Android and others. For now this is just a Nokia phone with Windows. The start-up screen can be modified and the back covers are interchangeable in different colors. The price for this phone will start around 270 EUR and will be in stores staring with this month.
